Returns
Overview
A return is a request from a dealer to send back previously shipped inventory. Returns are submitted by EVTR vendors via the API and tracked through to resolution by internal staff.
Each return specifies:
The dealer making the return
One or more line items (product, serial range, quantity, and reason)
A return method — either shipment to an address or pickup
A status reflecting where it is in the resolution process
Viewing Returns
Navigate to Returns in the sidebar to see all returns. The list defaults to Created returns. Use the search box to find by return ID or dealer name, and the status filter to switch between All, Created, Completed, Cancelled, Error, and Missing in Transit.
Return Detail
Click any return to open its detail page. The detail page shows:
Return ID, status, and return method (pickup or ship-to address)
Dealer name and number, with primary contact details if available
Line items: product, serial range, quantity, and reason — each with its own process control
Activity timeline showing all status changes and notes
An error note or missing in transit note, if applicable
Processing a Return
Returns are processed at the line item level. Each item on the return must be processed individually before the return can be considered complete.
Processing Line Items
For each line item on the return detail page, select the appropriate reason and mark the item as processed. The available reasons are listed in the Return Reasons table below.
When an item is marked as Damaged, you can attach supporting photos or documents directly to that line item.
Once all line items have been processed, the return automatically transitions to Completed.
Mark Error
If the return as a whole could not be processed — for example, due to a systemic issue — open the Actions dropdown on the return detail page and select Mark Error. You will be prompted to enter a comment. The return transitions to Error status.
Mark Missing in Transit
Open the Actions dropdown and select Mark Missing in Transit if the items were lost during the return shipment. You will be prompted to enter a comment. The return transitions to Missing In Transit status.
